Scholarships

After receiving several heart-felt requests for scholarships the first year, I was led to open up the possibility for sponsored scholarships. Please see my blog post on Special Moms, Special Healing for examples of very special moms and why the need is so great.
Basically, this means that someone, either an individual or a business can donate funds to help a mom attend who wouldn’t otherwise be able to. I make no guarantees for any available sponsorships and have the final decision about who the scholarships will be awarded to if funds are available. I would like to be able to include conference registration, airfare or gasoline, taxi or rental care, if necessary, and two nights hotel stay. Attendees will be responsible for their own meals. However, assuming that all of this may or may not be possible, I am asking that if any Austin area moms are willing to let a mom stay the night in their home for two nights, to please get in touch with me.
If you are considering donating funds for a mother to attend, any amount is welcome and if you are an individual, these funds will be used exclusively for conference registration. See the Paypal button below. If you are a business and would like to sponsor one or several moms, please contact me to discuss the opportunities. Extensive promotion will be available as part of the business sponsorships. Keep in mind that I am not a non-profit organization so donations are not tax-deductible, but they will be going to a great cause, moms who desperately need a break and wouldn’t get one otherwise. Having been a CEO of a non-profit, I have the highest degree of ethics and will only use these funds for the purpose they are intended.
If you are interested in applying for a scholarship, please contact me and explain to me why you need this scholarship. I would suggest a minimum of one paragraph but no more than 3. There is NO guarantee of a scholarship and I have the final decision on who will be awarded the scholarships if funds are available. Please include your (no additional people will be included) approximate expected expenses to include travel to the Austin area (coach/economy airfare or gasoline), approximate hotel costs for two nights, rental car (economy car only) if necessary, and conference registration ($65). Meals will not be included and you will be responsible for these. Please also state whether you would be willing to stay in the home of another mother/family of a child with special needs if available. Further restrictions could be imposed at a later date and are ultimately at my discretion.
